Dr. Shahin Aziz
Director (Addl. Charge), IFRD, BCSIR.
Dr. Shahin Aziz joined the position of the Director (Addl. Charge) of Institute of Fuel Research & Development on February-2021. She is a Principal Scientific Officer. Since joining BCSIR in 1998, she served various positions in different Laboratory & Institutes. She held the position of Section-In-Charge of Industrial Chemical Section in Chemical Research Division of BCSIR Laboratories-Dhaka, Division-In-Charge of Chemical Research Division of BCSIR Laboratories-Dhaka, Officer in charge of Chemical Store, BCSIR earlier. She also worked as attachment to the office of Research Coordinator.
Dr. Shahin Aziz successfully completed training on Gas Chromatograph (GC), Differential Thermal/Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer (DT/GA), X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), Universal testing machine (UTM), Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometer-Mass Spectrophotometer (LCMS MS), UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatography and gas Chromatography-mass Spectrophotometer (GCMS), Nuclear magnetic Resonance Spectrophotometer( NMR), Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS), High performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). She successfully completed the training on “Principles and operation of AA-7000 graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS)” on 12-14 June, 2019 at Shimadzu Asia Pacific Ltd., Singapore. All these training were related to her professional area. She also successfully completed training on “Public Procurement Management” & “Planning Process, DPP Processing, Project Management, Public procurement Management (Project guidelines), Digital planning, IMED Formats /PMIS” from National Academy for Planning and Development (NAPD). She conducted training on Fourier Transformed Infra Red Spectrophotometer to participants from various fields of BCSIR.
Dr. Shahin Aziz received the BSc and MSc in Chemistry in 1992 (held in 1995) and 1993 (held in 1997) respectively from the Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka. Dr. Shahin Aziz was awarded Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry. It was a joint collaborative program with Department of Chemistry of Jahangir Nagar University and Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She supervised 35 research fellows/ M.Sc. students/ M. Phill students / Ph.D student. She has about 100 scientific paper published in peer-reviewed/ SCIE/Scopus Indexed journals in home and abroad. She is inventor of 18 & 2 intellectual properties (Process) accepted & submitted respectively. Among the accepted intellectual properties 3 are leased out.
